Michelle Obama TED Talk

Today's Goal: Use SOAPSTone to analyze Michelle Obama's TED Talk, and identify devices and appeals that support her argument.

SOAPSTone
Rewatch the TED Talk, paying closer attention (and annotating her text) to the devices and appeals that Mrs. Obama employs to enhance her message.

Gradebook Explained

My grade book is on School Loop for you to view. There are some things you need to know that will hopefully clarify some things.

I = Incomplete, and may not be made up. An I is worth 30% of the total points available for an assignment. This is a department criteria and policy.

M = Missing, and should be made up or turned in for at least partial credit. The assignment is worth a zero until the work is completed.

Ab = Absent, and should be made up or turned in in a timely manner. The assignment is worth a zero until the work is completed.

Blank scores mean I have not graded it yet.

Zeroes occur when students do not turn in assignments that they are expected to submit. Regardless of when it is due, students are expected to complete the assignment.

Sometimes a score given on a minor assignment is not ideal. For students willing to put in the work, they are welcome to talk with me about redoing certain assignments.
